This is a big post for me. It’s my 30th, and things are going in a new direction.
I recently read an article about AI-agents, their creation, and their impact on SEO and search in-general. From there, an idea was born…
I hate teasers like that, especially when they’re never resolved, but I promise to follow up on this topic. There are just some legalities I’m working with right now.
Meanwhile, I’m really leaning more and more into AI and it’s impact on our world as a whole.
I think…no, I KNOW…that AI is an un-governed, unregulated world right now.
Guardrails must be put into place before it’s too late.
From Content Strategy to AI Governance: What’s Next for Me

I finally finished Moral Ambition by Rutger Bregman, and suffice it to say, the book, its theories, and its ideas have given me a lot to think about, and some new direction.
It’s no secret that Penpixel Creative is still in its startup phase, but content strategy has changed so much from my first post to now. Back then, I mention how AI has changed the face of content production and digital marketing, but I was thinking of it strictly in the context of content production.
Since then, I’ve branched out to learn about prompt engineering and AI-agents. And I’ve really put some thought into how people use AI.
As I mentioned previously, it’s an AI world and we’re just living in it. I’ve actually begun to get sickened by all of the unnecessary mentions of AI in every new piece of coding or software.
But, I suppose that’s how significant AI is. It’s going to be in everything from now on.
Human in the Loop: Why We Still Matter in an AI World
Regarding the world of AI, I want to finish this short post up with this warning:
I’m still convinced that 99% of the people using AI are using it incorrectly. They haven’t switched over to using AI as a tool to make them better at their job, or to make things that make the world better.
They haven’t realized that AI is simply the screwdriver they can use to build something spectacular.
They’re still thinking of AI as the tool that will create more profits, and I don’t disagree. I just think they’re going about it wrong.
In AI circles, there’s a term called “human-in-the-loop,” or HITL. This means that there are certain aspects of AI that need to pass through a human for things like fact, process, or even a safety check.
This is why AI isn’t going to really “take” our jobs. I want to end that sentence with the the words “either” or “yet.” Both apply. All it’s really going to do is change our jobs…it’s going to change the way we do our jobs.
It means we are going to have to think in new ways, to learn new skills. I could get really crazy and say that it’s going to change the dynamic of our cultural and societal relationships.
Because many of its users think AI is the answer, they’re vulnerable to those who do understand how to use AI and LLMs. I want to say that most of them have some sort of ethics, but you never know.
There’s probably a tier between the 99% and the 1% who know enough to be dangerous, but don’t have the ethics or deep understanding of the consequences of AI.
These are the ones who will spend all of their time figuring out a way to use AI dishonestly.
Watch out for them. I’m trying to figure out a better way to do that right now. I’ll need a lot of help soon.
While You Wait…
Let’s provide some helpful answers before I sign off.
I strongly recommend you look into taking the Google Prompting Essentials course or, go to Coursera and take an equivalent.
I’m taking the Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT course from Professor Jules White there. I like him because he’s a professional educator with a knack for getting the message across in easy-to-understand terms.
You may also want to check out the Google Cloud Skills Boost and take some of the courses there. These will help you understand how LLMs work and what you can really use them for.
I will add this, though. You’re subtly being sold the Google Cloud and AI-apps throughout the lessons. They’re extremely useful, but just know you’re being marketed to.
OK…as I started this out with, stay tuned for my next big thing…
Sheesh…I have so much going on…
