Ok. Let’s see if I can get into this. Bear with me…I’m not spending time editing this one. Just free-writing…
For me, SEO has come…
…and gone…
…and then it comes back again…
…and then it’s gone again.
But I’m in a somewhat hopeful phase right now.
What’s New in SEO?
SEO has been destroyed. So my gut feeling about that has come true.
I still don’t think many SEOs will readily admit that, but Kevin Indig threw down the gauntlet when he published this:

Death Of The Keyword: Why Aggregate Organic Traffic Is A Better Metric
Here’s a non-ChatGPT summary for you:
Kevin points out that keyword research has actually been dead for several years. He supports this by telling us that over one-third of searches end without a click at all due to search generative results.
So instead of keywords, he suggests:
“…we should focus on organic traffic aggregated on the page or domain level.”
-Kevin Indig
What does this mean?
I think Kevin is saying that SEOs are going to have to start monitoring the zeitgeist and really paying attention to what’s going on in their client’s industry (or your industry, if you’re an in-house SEO).
Less data analysis, and more real-world networking, learning, and engagement.
SEOs are going to have to get social…
What’s New With Me?
Since my last post, I’ve finally figured out the direction I’m going to take my content agency in.
If you’ve forgotten, it’s called Penpixel Creative and it’s the business I’m referring to when I’m talking about my experiences or services.
I was on a off-season vacation to United States South for the last 14 days and had an epiphany.
For those of you who are curious, I was in South Carolina and Georgia. It doesn’t get any more Dixie than that, does it? It was quite an experience for several weather-related reasons that I won’t get into here.
Content Strategy Epiphany
But while there, I finally realized there’s a slight gap in the market for content strategy-as-a-service. So I’ve spent the last few days revamping my website and copy to support my new services.

What was my epiphany?
Basically, the tools and inherent ability exist now that enable anyone to create content.
What’s missing is the time to create content…especially if you’re an entrepreneur, SMB, or operate a business at any level.
Yes. Enterprise corporations probably won’t have this issue, but we’ve all seen multi-million dollar websites that look like this:

Not sure that’s actually a multi-million dollar business, but you get the picture.
Moving Forward with a New Type of Content Service
So, I think it’s a good time for me to start selling content strategies. I’ll do all the work to put one together for you, and then hand it over to you.
And if you’re too busy to execute your new, badass content strategy, me and the team I’m building will do it for you.
I suspect…no, I KNOW…99% of business operators need this service and either don’t know they need it, won’t admit they need it, or are behind the times.
Either way…it’s here now and I’m ready for clients.
